Croissants. Get them!!
Vive La Tarte really has their croissant recipe on lock. It's perfect every time. The outside is toasty but the inside is soft. You can see all the butter layers in it when you take a bite. Really didn't know that fresh, homemade croissants could taste this good!! I enjoy the chocolate and the plain butter croissant the most...the ones with filling are also good but I feel like the can cream can be overpowering.
I live nearby and walked past this place so many times without knowing it was there. The sign-age for this place isn't the most obvious but it's right next to the jiu jitsu gym. Staff is friendly and there are plenty of places to sit. They also have an open kitchen so if you like people watching while you eat, this is the place for you lol. -

It's industrial, trendy, hipster, very busy, and worth the wait. In a city full of expensive and often poor quality foods, this is not one.
My partner and I dropped in for a quick breakfast last Sunday. Thankfully beat a large rush of people, but waited patiently for a table to free up to enjoy our breakfast. My breakfast sandwich was very well done, and the bread was amazing. My partners huevos vivos was full of flavour, was well balanced, and cooked to perfection. To drink, he had a turmeric latte. I get it's breakfast, but it's shocking how many people turn a basic meal bad. -

One of my favorite restaurants in SF.
First off, when you walk in, the area is super clean and modern. The atmosphere is nice.
I ordered the BLT which was pretty good and my brother ordered the fried egg sandwich which he said that was also really good. He also ordered a latte which was average
The reason it gets five stars is its cheesecake. It is so good and its texture was incredible. It was crunchy on the bottom and had this velvety texture throughout. Incredible.
We also ordered the almond croissant which was delicious. Flaky, and a great almond flavor.
5/5 totally will come again -

Get the croissant! It was so flaky, so buttery, and very delicious.
I loved the openness and the design of the shop. It was very comfortable for hanging out and working. -

Grabbed brunch when I was in the SoMa area. My favorite item is their smashed avocado toast which yet again was stellar on this visit. Avocado, poached egg, farmer's cheese, pickled tomatillo, cherry tomatoes, and sumac on house levain. This is my go-to order along with Sightglass's turmeric latte. If I lived nearby, I'd eat here super regularly, much like my friend who actually did live nearby. (His go-to order was the fried egg sandwich.)
I also got the matcha cream-filled donut to go bc I have a hard time resisting matcha-flavored things. I wound up eating the donut in the evening and was not as impressed by it; prolly would have been better had I eaten it earlier in the day and also bc I'm actually normally not a fan of cream-filled donuts and this didn't change my mind. Doesn't mean someone else who does love filled donuts wouldn't like it.
